Who Said That?

I found this quote on a small monument while walking down the street looking for blight, and I remembered the man who said it.

If the photograph isn't clear, this is what it says, "Live as though you will die tomorrow, but study as though you will live forever."

I only talked to him once, but it was a great conversation.

If you know who he is, let me know. Since I didn't know him, I don't have any interesting stories about him.  I'll buy coffee for the first person who knew him and can tell me an interesting anecdote or story in the comments. Let people know who he was. I think he was probably the kind of person who said or did interesting things.
