Community Fund of Darien Hosts 38th Annual Volunteer Luncheon
The Volunteer Recognition Luncheon will take place on May 23 to honor volunteers who have worked throughout the community to give back.

From The Community Fund of Darien: The Community Fund of Darien invites dozens of non-profits in the area to honor an outstanding Darien volunteer or current project at this annual event held at the Darien Community Association (DCA), located at 274 Middlesex Road in Darien from 12:00pm – 2:00pm.
Who: Representatives from over 50 area non-profits and their nominated guests are invited to join this town wide celebration which highlights the significance and tradition of volunteerism in Darien. Each nominee must be a Darien youth, adult or senior resident or someone who has volunteered in a non-profit agency or organization in Darien. Local government officials will also be in attendance. Our “Masters of Ceremony” this year will be First Selectman Jayme Stevenson and State Representative Terrie Wood. This year’s guest speaker is author and entrepreneur, Jonathan Fanning. A traumatic car accident in the middle of Fanning’s fast paced career triggered a quest for a deeper sense of purpose, meaning, and significance in his own life. Fanning has spoken to audiences in over 45 states and on 3 continents. His recent TED Talk won best speaker at the conference. He will also be signing copies of his book Who Are You Becoming?
Why: Every spring, for 38 years, The Community Fund of Darien has celebrated and promoted the spirit of volunteerism in Darien by hosting the annual Volunteer Recognition Day Luncheon to honor over 100 local volunteers who have touched our town with their extraordinary generosity and spirit. This special day celebrates volunteers of all ages, who generously give of their time, talents and energy to improve the lives of others and make our town a better place to work and live.
