Construction To Begin Soon At Darien's Great Island: Town

DARIEN, CT — Work to improve the main driveway at Great Island will begin again on Monday, Aug. 4, according to an announcement from the town of Darien.

To facilitate the work, the island will be closed to the public Monday through Friday before 4 p.m.

Weekend access from dawn to dusk will continue as usual throughout the project, the town said.

"Access hours may shift as work progresses, and we’ll share updates if the schedule changes," the town said. "We appreciate your cooperation as we make Great Island safer and more accessible for all to enjoy in the years ahead."
