Cooling Centers Available In Darien As Heat Wave Impacts Region

DARIEN, CT — With temperatures around 100 degrees this week, there are several cooling centers available in town for Darien residents looking to beat the heat.

According to the town, cooling centers are open at the following locations:

• Darien Mather Center, 2 Renshaw Road: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Darien Library, 1441 Post Road: Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Town Hall Auditorium, 2 Renshaw Road: Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service forecast for Darien shows a high of 105 degrees on Tuesday, 91 on Wednesday, 81 on Thursday, and 74 on Friday.
