Darien Election Results 2025: Zagrodzky Secures 2nd Term As First Selectman
First Selectman Jon Zagrodzky, who became the town's chief elected official in 2023, will serve a second term.

DARIEN, CT — Darien First Selectman Jon Zagrodzky will serve a second term as the town's chief elected official.
Zagrodzky ran unopposed in this year's election. He succeeded Monica McNally as first selectman in 2023.
In his Patch candidate profile, Zagrodzky said he is seeking office again to finish much of the work he started in his first term, which included a focus on improving communications with the community, streamlining government, and infrastructure improvements.

Addressing flooding and pedestrian infrastructure will be goals for Zagrodzky in a new term.
Zagrodzky said the town's debt position is the most pressing issue facing constituents.

"Darien has taken on nearly $250 million in debt for school construction and renovation ($160 million) and the Great Island purchase ($90 million)," Zagrodzky wrote in his candidate profile. "Residents are rightly concerned. I will continue to ensure that both residents and officials fully understand our debt position and how we can manage it responsibly over time."
The other races in town were non-competitive.
The Board of Selectmen will remain unchanged, with Democrats Michael Burke and Sarah Neumann returning, alongside Republicans McNally and Marcy Minnick.
Town Clerk Christa McNamara, a Republican, ran unopposed, as did Treasurer and Republican Joan Hendrickson and Tax Collector Kathleen Larkins, also a Republican.
On the Board of Finance, Democrat Millyn Gaaserud and Republicans Paul Hendrickson, Jennifer Schwartz and Robert Cardone will return.
Democrat Glenn Ritch and Republican Christopher Torres will go back to the Darien Board of Assessment Appeals, and Democrat Adam Balgach and Republicans Stephen Olvany and Jamie Zionic will serve again on the Planning & Zoning Commission.
