Darien High School Head Football Coach Resigns After 2 Seasons

The coach had been with the Blue Wave football program since 2012, according to Hearst CT.

DARIEN, CT — Darien High School head football coach Mike Forget announced last week he is resigning after two seasons at the helm, according to Hearst CT.

Forget has been a part of the Blue Wave football program since 2012. He served as the defensive coordinator for eight seasons, Hearst CT noted.

In 2021, the Blue Wave went 12-1 overall en route to a CIAC Class LL championship. This year, the team went 6-4 and missed the playoffs.

Forget told Hearst that while he's sad to be leaving, he enjoyed his time at DHS and will now move on to his next adventure.

Darien Athletic Director Chris Manfredonia told Hearst that the school will post the job opening immediately.
