Darien is updating its Community Health Needs Assessment for the first time since 2017, and residents are encouraged to take a survey.

This process helps to identify health related needs and community assets, the Darien Health Department said.

DARIEN, CT — For the first time since 2017, Darien is updating its Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), and one of the first steps in the process is seeking input from residents through a survey.

"Public health is more than health care. Health outcomes are shaped by people’s behaviors, ability to access health care, living and working conditions, and the institutions, policies, systems, cultural norms, social inequities, and environment that shape our community," the health department said in an announcement. "Information gathered from this survey is a critical part of the overall CHNA which helps us identify community health related strengths, and more importantly, areas that may need improvement."

The survey should not take longer than 15 minutes to complete. Responses are anonymous, and will be combined and summarized with all other responses in the CHNA report.
