Darien Natives Named To Watch List For Top Collegiate Lacrosse Award
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States.
DARIEN, CT — Three Darien natives have been named to the 2025 Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
Sisters Ashley and Chloe Humphrey, both graduates of Darien High School who attend the University of North Carolina, were named to the watch list on Thursday.

An attacker, Ashley received D1 Preseason All-American Honors as an honorable mention earlier this year. She was named to the 2024 All-ACC Academic Team and was a 2024 All-American honorable mention from ILWomen. She's currently eighth on the all-time single-season assists list at UNC with 38 assists tallied last season. She currently has 13 goals on the current season.
Also an attacker, Chloe was ranked the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2023 by Inside Lacrosse, following a stellar career at DHS in which she scored on 72 percent of her shots during her senior season. Chloe currently has 24 goals this season, her first for the No. 2 ranked Tar Heels. She redshirted her freshman year.

Another DHS graduate and current junior at Boston College, Shea Dolce, was named to the watch list last month.
A goalkeeper, Dolce won the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Goalkeeper of the Year Award in 2024, leading the Eagles to a national championship in which she made nine saves against Northwestern including a stop with under a minute left to keep BC's lead. Dolce earned Preseason Third Team All-American honors in January.
The BC Eagles are currently 7-0.
Five men’s and five women’s finalists for the Tewaaraton Award will be announced in early May. Award recipients will be chosen after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season.
