DARIEN, CT — Darien beaches are closed Friday, July 14, due to inclement weather.

Powerful thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are forecast throughout the day, and rainfall amounts may exceed 2 inches per hour at times, the town said in a social media post. Moderate small stream and urban flooding may occur.

Showers and storms are expected to move out of the area after midnight. Residents are being urged to use caution.
