Darienite's Stolen Pickup Recovered in Bronx

The vehicle showed few signs of damage, police said.

A pickup truck stolen from the lot in January was recovered in New York City on Wednesday with minimal damage, according to police.

Lt. Don Anderson said the vehicle, a grey 2003 Nissan Frontier, was located in the Bronx by officers from the New York Police Department.

The truck's ignition cylinder had been broken such that the vehicle could be started with a screwdriver, Anderson said, but no other damage was found.

Anderson added that it was "surprising" that the pickup had not been stripped.

The vehicle by a female Darien resident, who had parked it at the station three days earlier.

Though the complainant reportedly locked the truck, police said at the time that there was no evidence of a break-in found near the scene, possibly because the lot had been plowed.
