First They Need Homes. Then They Need Real Names.
Luke 1 and Luke 2 are two special cats from OPIN in Stamford. They are FeLV+ positive, though Leukemia is a cat-only virus and they can live perfectly happy lives.
If you're still reading Patch on a Saturday morning, you might be interested in rescuing these two special cats in Stamford.
Luke says “love is positive, and so am I. Being FeLV+ doesn't matter to me, being loved does. Adopt me!” Caring for a pet with special needs may take less time or money than you think.
And the life you'll save is priceless. FeLV positive cats can live perfectly happy lives, and they deserve to do so.
People who have FeLV+ cats just need to be aware that they may have a shorter life span and that they need to be taken to a veterinarian as soon as a problem is noted.
Ordinarily, OPIN does not feature cats however the Luke brothers are waiting for their lucky break and need to find a home quickly, away from the stress of the animal shelter.
These 18-month old brothers are showing NO symptoms of their disease meaning, they may have built an immunity against the virus.
They should be placed in a home where they are the only cats or where they can be kept separate from negative cats.
Leukemia is a cat-only virus. To meet the Luke brothers, or any of the other pets at our local animal shelter, please stop down any day at 201 Magee Avenue.
The shelter is open 7 days a week from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and for your convenience is open late on Wednesday evenings, until 8:00 pm.
For more information call the shelter at: (203) 977-4437. To see all the adoptable shelter pets, visit: www.opinpets.org
