The award is given to a Darien High School senior who best exemplifies the qualities of patriotism, service, leadership and dependability.
DARIEN, CT — Bronwyn (Winnie) Bluestein, daughter of Margit and Jeffrey Bluestein, is the 2025 – 2026 recipient of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Chapter award. This award is sponsored annually by the DAR Good Wife’s River Chapter, Inc, in Darien. It honors an outstanding person in the senior class of Darien High School (DHS) who best exemplifies the qualities of patriotism, service, leadership and dependability.

Bronwyn was selected for this prestigious award by the faculty and senior class at DHS. She will be honored at a reception at the Museum of Darien on Sunday afternoon, December 7th, where she will receive her award certificate and pin.
At DHS, Bronwyn is a member of the French National Honor Society, where she serves as President. She is a member of the DHS Girls Varsity Tennis team and is also involved with Wave Strong, a mental-health-focused organization.

Giving back to her community is important to Bronwyn. She has been involved with the Youth Community Fund (YCF), which is part of the Darien Community Fund, since 10th grade, and now serves as its President. “Through YCF, I’ve had the chance to volunteer with local nonprofits and see first-hand how much of a difference small efforts can make,” says Bronwyn. “I really enjoy connecting with people in our community and finding ways to support those around me.”
Bronwyn is also part of Best Buddies, where she helps students with intellectual developmental disabilities feel included and supported, and learn to advocate for themselves. Her involvement with this international organization has taught her about empathy and meaningful connections.
