Man Who Broke Into Garage And Stole Motorcycle Arrested: Darien Police
The man was previously identified in a similar 2024 Darien burglary involving motorcycle that was listed for sale on Facebook, police said.
DARIEN, CT — A New York City man who Darien police say broke into a garage in March and stole a motorcycle has been arrested.
Marcos Perez, who turns 38 next week, turned himself in to police on Dec. 2, according to his arrest report. He was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle - first offense, conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle, second-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, and conspiracy to commit second-degree criminal mischief.
On March 26, officers responded to a home on Five Mile River Road on a report of a burglary in which a 2022 BMW M1000RR motorcycle was stolen from the homeowner's garage, police said.

An investigation found the home's internet cable was cut and entry was made through the garage door, police said.
Security footage showed two suspects pushing the motorcycle up the driveway and then loading it into a van, according to police, who later collected DNA and fingerprint evidence from the scene.

A DNA sample from the scene was later matched by the Connecticut State Laboratory to Perez, police said.
Perez was previously identified in a similar 2024 Darien burglary involving a motorcycle that was listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, police noted.
An arrest warrant with a $200,000 court-set bond was secured for Perez, and he subsequently turned himself in.
The CT Judicial Branch website shows Perez was released after posing $100,000. He's scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 31.
