Snowfall Closes These Spots Friday in Darien; 'On Golden Pond,' 'Pajama Game' Cancelled
Tonight: Town Hall and Mather Community Center are closed; cancelled: "On Golden Pond" at Darien Arts Center and Theatre 308's "Pajama Game"
In addition to closing Darien Public Schools early, Friday’s snowfall is closing other places down for the day or the night:
- Darien Arts Center’s performance of “On Golden Pond” is cancelled and tickets bought online will be refunded, the organization announced on its website. Walk-ins will be “welcome to Saturday and Sunday’s performances.”
- The Theatre 308 performance of “The Pajama Game,” scheduled for Friday night has been cancelled and will instead take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, when Friday’s tickets will be honored, the Darien High School website announced.
- An announcement emailed at 3:34 p.m. from First Selectman Jaymie Stevenson’s office stated: “Due to weather conditions Darien Town Hall, the Mather Center and the Darien Arts Center will be closed this evening, Friday, March 20, 2015.”
- Person-to-Person announced it was closing at noon. The nonprofit agency will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday.
- Holly Pond School at the Darien YMCA was closed for the afternoon, and the Kids Club was cancelled for the day.
- Although all morning programs ran as scheduled, the Darien Nature “Lunch Bunch” was cancelled.
