Woodbridge Gets $500K State Grant for Conversion of Fire HQ to Community Space
The grant will help finance Phase 2 of the project to convert the space.

A project to convert the Woodbridge Fire Department headquarters building into a community and recreational space has been granted $500,000 by the state as part of the Small Town Economic Assistance Program, Gov. Dannel Malloy’s office announced on Monday.
The grant, which will help finance Phase 2 of the project, is expected to result in jobs for 25 workers, according to the Governor’s Office.
Also announced Monday were grants for six other small towns around the state: Beacon Falls, Berlin, Plainfield, Sprague, Stafford and Voluntown. Each of the grants was for $500,000, except for Plainfield, which received $200,000 (to help pay for extension of a water main).
