School Officials: Accreditation Group Impressed With Coginchaug
A 16-member committee representing the New England Association of Schools and Colleges visited the high school for four days this week.

This week's visit by a 16-member commitee representing the New England Association of Schools and Colleges to Coginchaug High School appears to have been a successful one.
At Wednesday night's Board of Education meeting Coginchaug Vice Principal Brian Bodner said the committee was impressed with the school and the community.

"They said they could really tell, it was just obvious how much the students cared for and respected their teachers and how much the teachers cared for and respected their students," Bodner said.
"They were unbelievably complimentary about our custodial staff and the cleanliness of our school. They were blown away by the school culture and climate.

"They felt that our report as a faculty was very honest. They felt that we had done a great job of identifying our own strengths and weaknesses, areas for future growth.
"Overall, it was, I thought, a great experience. It really fulfilled its purpose of being a model for self growth and that was something expressed by the visiting committee."
The committee spent four days visiting the school and is expected to release its report later this summer.
