Coginchaug Little Leaguers Cheer on Westport (Connecticut)
The Little League team from Connecticut remains undefeated and is just one win away from playing in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.
The Westport Little League All-Stars will play for the New England Little League championship on Saturday versus Rhode Island for a chance to advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.
Westport has defeated Vermont, Maine (twice), New Hampshire and Massachusetts, outscoring their opponents 42-8 along the way.
Two weeks ago, the same Westport team defeated the Coginchaug Little League All-Stars 8-2 and 9-1 to win the state Little League championship and advance to the New England tournament in Bristol.
Saturday's game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Leadership Training Center at 335 Mix Street in Bristol. The game will be broadcast live by ESPN.
