Daily Five: School Budget Topic of Meeting Tonight

1.Β What's the Weather?Β Partly sunny, with a high near 67. Tonight:Β Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42.
2. School Budget Meeting Tonight Durham and Middlefield's boards of finance will meet tonight with the Regional School District 13 Board of Education to discuss next year's $36 million school budget proposal. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Strong School.
3. Community ConversationΒ The Durham Middlefield Local Wellness Council and Durham Middlefield Youth and Family Services (DMYFS) together are sponsoring a Community Conversation.Β TheΒ event isΒ designed to bring our community together to support our youth, increase awareness of underage drinking and substance use, and mobilize action on behalf of our youth.Β The Community Conversation is open to all and will be held on April 25thΒ from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Durham Public Library.Β The event is FREE and weΒ need youΒ to be a part of this critical conversation.Β Teens are very welcome to attend as well.
4. Crafters and Artisans WantedΒ Exhibitors are wanted at the Notre Dame Annual Summer Festival in Durham, featuring a Craft Fair, a Strawberry Festival and Car Show in Durham on Saturday, June 15th fromΒ 9-3 p.m.. This Festival is sponsored by the Notre Dame Knights of Columbus Council #12289; proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project. This is a high exposure Craft Fair on Main Street in Durham. Outdoor 10 X 10 spaces available at $15. Optional 8 foot tables are available at $5. Reserve space and tables early. 5. POPSΒ Clothing Drive Spring is here! Β It's time to clean out those closets again!! POPS (Parents of Performing students from CRHS) is again sponsoring a Clothing Drive. POPS is a volunteer parent group who supports and supplements the music department at Coginchaug High School.
Please join us at our Clothing Drive Saturday April 27th 10-2pm or Sunday April 28th 11-1pm at the Strong School Parking Lot. Β We will gladly accept all clothes, material, sheets, comforters, belt and shoes.Β
