2.The Firehouse Five to Play Jazz in the Firehouse Β The Firehouse Five will be featured performers in Jazz at the Firehouse, Saturday, April 20, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Durham firehouse. Organizers promise a family-friendly evening of fun, music and food.Β The Firehouse Five are five accomplished student musicians, two from Coginchaug Regional High School.Β Jack βThe Hatβ Riotte and Lindsay Artkop have performed in school events, at the Durham Fair, and Jack has sat in with such popular groups as Eight to the Bar. They are joined by Miles Livolsi, Michaela Coppola, and Chris Dorsey. Β
The event is sponsored by the Durham Democratic Town Committee and continues a committee tradition of featuring local musical talent.Β Chili tastings, cornbread, macaroni and cheese and desserts will be part of the evening.Β Tickets at $15 for adults and $3 for children under 12 are available from Town Committee members or at the door. 3. Household Hazardous Waste CollectionΒ Durham and Middlefield residents can dispose of household hazardous waste on April 20 at the Clinton Public Works Garage located at 117 Nod Road, Clinton.
4. Give Back NightΒ The Middlefield Children's Center is inviting you to support the school by visiting the Chili's restaurant at 1085 N. Colony Rod in Wallingford between 12-10 p.m. on Thursday, April 25. Print the attached coupon and get FREE chips and salsa with the purchase of one or more entrees. CVEF Grant Deadline LoomingΒ The Coginchaug Valley Education Foundation (CVEF) will be accepting grant applications until May 1.Β A total of 27 grants totaling more than $35,000 have been awarded over the past four years.
