Daily Five: Viccaro Was Finalist for Superintendent Job in Massachusetts

2. Viccaro Vies for Superintendent JobΒ Outgoing District 13 Superintendent Susan Viccaro was among threeΒ finalists for the school chief job in Ipswich, Mass., according to a news report. The position would have been a homecoming of sorts for Viccaro, who is originally from Essex, Mass.
Viccaro, who lives in Middlefield,Β announcedΒ in early April that she would beΒ leaving Durham and Middlefield schools at the end of June. She was named a finalist for the position around the time of her resignation announcement.
3. Coginchaug New Horizons BandΒ Reminder Three information meetings will be held for anyone interested in joining the new band for 50+ residents. Learn more here. The first meeting is tonight at 7 p.m. at the Independent Day School. Another meeting will be held tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Durham Activity Center. A third meeting has been scheduled for Wedesday,Β May 8th at 7 p.m. atΒ IDS.Β Those unable to attend but interested in participating should email director Tim Fisher atΒ coginchaugnhband@gmail.com. The band will begin rehearsing in late May on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 at the Independent Day School in Middlefield.
4. Project LinusΒ The Durham Fair Needlework Department has a new category this year to support Project Linus.Β Enter new, handmade, washable blankets that then are donated to local hospitals, shelters, community centers, and any other place where a child , ages 0-18 yrs may be seriously ill or traumatized.
