2. Fajita FiestaΒ Join the Coginchaug Regional High SchoolΒ Spanish Honor Society Students for the 12th Annual Fajita Fiesta, featuringΒ dinner, live mariachi band, and silent auction. Event starts at 6 p.m. at Coginchaug H.S.Β Limited tickets are available at the door.

3. Prescription Drug Take Back Durham and Middlefield residents are invited to turn in theirΒ unused or expired medication for safe disposal onΒ Saturday from 10-2 p.m. at the Middlefield Resident State Trooper's Office, 405 Main Street, Middlefield.

4. CVEF Grant DeadineΒ The deadline to apply for a 2013 grant from the Coginchaug Valley Education Foundation is May 1. Details here:Β www.coginchaugvef.com

Mother/Daughter Walk TheΒ 4th annualΒ Mother/Daughter walkΒ in honor of Mother's Day weekend will take place on Saturday, May 11Β at 1 p.m. atΒ Wadsworth Mansion inΒ Middletown.Β Bring your mother or your daughter (or someone like a mother or daughter to you) and explore the beautiful woods and grounds of Wadsworth Mansion. The groupΒ will walk 1 to 2 miles on trails and look for signs of spring, visit the vernal pool (viewing scopes provided) and perhaps even find a letterbox with a hand carved stamp. This is a hike for all women & girls capable of walking 2 miles on a dirt trail with some hills.
