Daily Five: Jack Riotte Wins Outstanding Soloist in Myrtle Beach

2. Outstanding Soloist Coginchaug High School freshman Jack Riotte earned the "Outstanding Soloist" award at the Fiesta-val Invitational Music Competition in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on April 12. Riotte and more than a hundred classmates traveled to Myrtle Beach for the competition last week. He's a member of the school's jazz band.

"I soloed on a tune called Cut the Cake by the Average White Band and on a tune called The Tiger of San Pedro by John LaBarbera.  I was very happy and proud to be picked for the award," Riotte said.
