Daily Five: Strong Marathoners, Grant Deadline and CIAC Visit Starts Today
Five things to know for Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

2. CVEF Deadline WednesdayΒ Grant applications for the Coginchaug Valley Education Foundation's annual grant awards must be postmarked by May 1. Visit www.coginchaugvef.comΒ for details.
3. Strong Marathoners Four teachers from Strong Middle School completed their first half marathonΒ on April 28 while racing in theΒ Naugatuck Savings Bank Cheshire Half Marathon, 5k & Kids Fun Run. The courseΒ runs through Cheshire and parts of Hamden with significant stretches along the Farmington Canal Trail. Congratulations to the runners!
4. Get Out The VoteΒ The Registrars of Voters thank the high school for allowing Voter Registration in the high school last week.Β The Durham Registrars also thank the students and teachers of the Citizenship classes for their participation in the Registrarsβ presentations on Local Government and the Connecticut Electoral Process.Β Residents can register to vote until Monday, May 6th to be eligible to vote on May 7th. Citizens who own more than $1,000 in property in town and are over 18 are also eligible to vote on the upcoming referendum on the school budget.
5.Β CIAC Program Evaluation VisitΒ A visiting committee from the CIAC will visit Coginchaug High School Tuesday and Wednesday toΒ tour the school'sΒ facilities and talk with students, faculty, staff, parents, and coaches about CRHS's athletic program.
