DUI Checkpoint Scheduled For This Weekend In Middlefield

State police have released information about an upcoming DUI checkpoint scheduled for this weekend.

MIDDLEFIELD, CT β€” State police will be conducting a DUI checkpoint this weekend in Middlefield.

State police posted the following regarding the checkpoint:

"On Friday, April 25, 2025, from 5:30 pm to 1:30 am on Saturday, April 26, 2025, Troopers from Troop F and the Traffic Services Unit will be conducting a DUI checkpoint on Route 66 in Middlefield between Jackson Hill Road and Peters Lane."

While it might seem counterintuitive to warn people of a DUI checkpoint, police said they must provide formal notice according to state law.

Police conduct these checkpoints in partnership with the state Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
