Durham Man Charged with Criminal Mischief, Disorderly Conduct

State police arrested Gregory P. Margison, 22, on June 4 for domestic incident in May along South End Avenue.

A Durham man faces charges following a domestic disturbance at a local home last month, according to police.

Gregory P. Margison, 22, was arrested on June 4 and charged with disorderly conduct  and second degree criminal mischief.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, state police were called to 97 South End Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. on May 10, where they found a woman, identified as Margison's father's girlfriend, visibly shaken.

The woman told police that Margison had recently returned home drunk but that when she asked him to "calm down" he became upset and began yelling profanities at her. After Margison was asked to leave the residence, he began kicking a garage door and then smashed the rear window of the woman's minivan, the affidavit says.

Margison left the residence before police arrived but was arrested earlier this month on the charges. An order of protection was also filed against him by the victim. His bond was set at $7,500.

Margison is due back in court on June 25.
