Durham, Middlefield Unemployment Levels Below State Average

After hitting high marks in early 2013, the unemployment levels for both Durham and Middlefield have declined.

According to the latest figures released by the Connecticut Department of Labor, Durham's unemployment in November sat at 5 percent while Middlefield's is a bit higher at 5.9 percent.

Statewide, the DOL puts the state unemployment level for non-season jobs at 7.6 percent and, when accounting for seasonal employed, the number is at 6.9 percent.

Comparatively, Durham was hit a high of 7.2 percent in February of 2013 while Middlefield's reached 7.7 percent in January. See the full breakdown of all towns her (click the 2013 Year-to-date icon on the right).

State, National Unemployment Rate

In Connecticut, the pool of jobless people last month sat at 6.9 percent overall. Nationally, the United State's unemployment rate is 6.6 percent.
