Durham Park Vandalized With Racist, Homophobic Slurs
Town officials are considering adding surveillance cameras to the park following the incident.
DURHAM, CT β Durham's White Farm was vandalized with a racial slur, a swastika, and a homophobic slur, which were all spray painted onto a jersey barrier, according to FOX 61. The park has been periodically vandalized in the past, and now town officials are considering adding surveillance cameras.
Bob Donahue, who chairs Durham's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, told FOX 61 he was shocked at the vitriolic comments from some, many of which came after last month's Pride event on the town green.
Police are investigating the vandalism incident and said those responsible will face prosecution.
