
Deb Vynalek, a longtime resident of Durham, recently purchased Core Club & 24/7 Gym, located at 350 Main Street in Durham.
Core Club is a full service fitness center offering members group exercise classes including Power Yoga, Boxing, Core HIIT, Body Barre, TRX as well as Music & Motion for ages 1-5, Weight Loss Challenges, a 24/7 Gym, Personal Training and much more.
Prior to this purchase, the club was owned by founder and Durham resident Cheryl Salva, who established the business in the Adams Commons on April 18, 2011, with the addition of a 24/7 Gym on April 19, 2012.

“I saw a need and filled it,” Salva said. “The fact that fitness is my passion was a huge bonus. I could not be more thrilled to pass the baton to Deb. Since joining the club in 2014 as an instructor and personal trainer, she has demonstrated her abilities as a gifted fitness expert and businesswomen. I look forward to watching how Deb grows the business.”
Vynalek, who has over 20 years experience in the fitness industry, will immediately assume all day-to-day operations and will continue the business at its current location and under the same name.

“I couldn’t be more excited to expand on what Cheryl has achieved,” Vynalek said. “Cheryl’s an amazing person who has helped countless people improve their health, happiness, and overall quality of life. I am honored and humbled that she has given me this opportunity to pursue a lifelong dream of owning a fitness center.” Current members will not be impacted by the change of ownership and Salva will continue on as part of the Core Club team.
