“Everything Keith does is of exceptional quality and thought,” said E. Lander Medlin, president and CEO of APPA. “He has leaned into the complex work of an educational facilities professional and wants to bring others along the way. To sum it up, Keith is a true collaborator with an entrepreneurial spirit most do not have in this profession.”

Woodward, who was honored at an awards ceremony Sept. 20 in Verona, New York, is in his 34th year at Quinnipiac. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and an MBA from QU. He also serves as co-chair of the university’s Emergency Management Team.

“I am honored to receive this award,” Woodward said. “It is always humbling to be recognized, but to know you are appreciated and valued by the peers in your industry makes it all the more special.”

APPA is formerly the Association of Physical Plant Administrators. Woodward has served as the Eastern Region APPA (ERAPPA) vice president for technology, president-elect, president, past president, representative to APPA committees, awards ceremony emcee as well as the Southern New England Chapter of APPA (SNEAPPA) treasurer and state representative. In addition, he was chair of the APPA Thought Leader Series.

Woodward is the ninth individual to receive the Norman H. Bedell Award, which was created in 1996 by ERAPPA to recognize the contributions of Bedell, who served APPA, ERAPPA, and KAPPA as international vice-president for professional affairs, regional officer and president, and chapter founder and treasurer.

Bedell demonstrated a unique blend of dedication and tenacity coupled with a sincere love for and belief in people. This award memorializes his contributions by recognizing another member who has served with distinction and exemplifies the leadership qualities of the late Norman H. Bedell.
