Durham-Middlefield Police Blotter: July 2-12
The following information was provided by Connecticut State Police and local police departments.

July 2
Robert T. Ryan, 50, of Madison Road, Durham, was arrested by Middletown Police. According to a report, Ryan was driving a Dodge Caravan on Newfield Street while driving dangerously in traffic. He was stopped near the Cromwell line and told the officer he was driving "stupid" because it was hot out. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle when license is suspended, improper passing and passing in a no passing zone.

July 6
Diana R. Flannigan, 59, of Dunn Hill Road, Durham, was arrested by Middletown Police. According to a report, police responded to the Stop & Shop on East Main Street when loss prevention personnel told police that Flannigan stole Phillips Milk of Magnesia, contact lens cases, seafood and several boxes of Crystal Light worth a total of $34.52. When an officer asked for the items back, the report says, Flannigan only gave up the seafood. Police say Flanningan said she took the items because she's been jobless for three years and lives with her elderly mother who supports her entirely.

July 7
At approximately 3:48 p.m., police responded to a motorcycle accident at the intersection of Route 157 and Cedar Street in Rockfall. According to a report, John O'Donovan, 24, of Meriden, was traveling southbound on Route 157 (Main Street) when he left the roadway and was ejected from the motorcycle. O'Donovan was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
July 11
Matthew Popek, 23, of 254 Maiden Lane, Durham, was arrested by Wallingford Police. Popek was charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, interfering with police, conspiracy possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics. According to court records, Popek has been arrested four times in the past 9 months, including back in March when police say he got high on heroin and chased his mother down the street in Durham.
July 12
Renee Schleif, 21, of 94 Mattabesset Drive, Durham, was arrested by Wallingford Police. Schleif was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and possession of less than 1/2 oz. marijuana.
