Country music legend George Jones died today a the age of 81. Jones,  whose career spanned six decades, inspired the likes of Frank Sinatra, Pete Townshend and James Taylor. In 2006, Jones was a headline act at the Durham Fair. He'd been in the middle of a yearlong, goodbye tour according to reports, which was set to wrap in Nashville, Tennessee in November.

The country music legend's career started in the 1950's.
