Country music legend George Jones died today aΒ the age of 81.
Jones,Β Β whose career spanned six decades, inspired the likes of Frank Sinatra, Pete Townshend andΒ James Taylor.
In 2006, Jones was a headline act at the Durham Fair.
He'd been in the middle of a yearlong, goodbye tour according to reports, which was set to wrap in Nashville, Tennessee in November.
