Area residents are invited to bring their pets to a special Blessing of the Animals service at noon on Sunday, October 7, 2012, on the front lawn of  the Church of the Epiphany, 196 Main St., Durham.  The event commemorates the October 4th feast of St. Franics of Assisi,  the patron saint of animals and the environment.

Area residents are invited to bring their pets to a special Blessing of the Animals service at noon on Sunday, October 7, 2012, on the front lawn of  the Church of the Epiphany, 196 Main St., Durham.  The event commemorates the October 4th feast of St. Franics of Assisi,  the patron saint of animals and the environment.

The Church of Epiphany in Durham will hold a special ceremony on Sunday for all pets and their owners.
