Kalmia String Quartet to perform at United Churches in Durham

On Sunday, April 21, at 3 p.m., Durham native Leah Gastler and the Kalmia String Quartet will present a chamber music concert at the United Churches in Durham. It is free of charge, no tickets are required and is open to music lovers of all ages.  

Gastler, a violist, is a graduate of Coginchaug High School and will graduate from the Juilliard School this spring with a Masters Degree in classical music performance. The quartet began playing together in 2010 as students of the Bard College Conservatory and gave one of their first concerts at the Durham Library.  

Since then, they have performed throughout the country and have studied with some of he most renowned musicians of our time. They are looking forward to performing again in Durham and have planned a concert featuring music of Mozart, Beethoven, Borodin.
