Man Impersonated Police Officer In Durham: State PD

A caller said a vehicle that looked like a police vehicle was driving erratically, according to police.

DURHAM, CT β€” A Middletown man is accused of impersonating a police officer, according to Connecticut State Police.

Troop F in Westbrook received a report around 8 a.m. on Friday of a vehicle that looked like a police vehicle driving erratically in the area of Durham Road (Route 79) in Durham, according to state police.

The caller provided police with a license plate and said the vehicle was a gray Ford SUV that had displayed flashing red and blue lights, according to police.

Police said an investigation found that the SUV was a privately owned vehicle that was registered to a residential address in Middletown.

State troopers and Middletown police officers responded to the residence and found a vehicle that matched the description provided by the caller parked in the driveway.

Vincent Hodge, 25, was at the home and arrested as a result of the investigation, police said.

Hodge was charged with impersonation of police officer, illegal use of flashing/color lights, following too closely, and failure to obey stop sign.

He was released after posting a $10,000 bond with a court date of July 22.
