A small crowd gathered in front of Middlefield's Veterans' Memorial on Monday to mark Memorial Day.
The brief ceremony was led by John Capega Jr., Commander of VFW Post 10362 (Middlefield/Rockfall) and attended by local veterans, Boy Scouts, members of the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company, local officials and residents.
Following the service, wreath laying ceremonies were held at the Firefighters Memorial, Middlefield Cemetery and Old North Burial Ground.
