Middlefield Lions Club to Host a FREE Vision and Diabetes Screening

Event will be held on Sunday, May 5th from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Middlefield Community Center.

Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller… that is because we are here to help! Lions are the world’s largest service club organization with 46,000 clubs and 1.35 million members worldwide. When it comes to meeting challenges, we always respond the same way: We Serve.

Many people already know that Lions are dedicated to preserving sight, but you may not know that we also have an initiative for diabetes. Knowing that many vision problems arise from complications related to diabetes, we think it is important to hold a free diabetes and vision screening for our community.

We will be holding this event on Sunday, May 5th from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Middlefield Community Center at 405 Main Street in Middlefield.

If you would like to attend and be screened for diabetes, the only requirement is that you do not have anything to eat 2 hours prior to being tested. Although a vision screening like we will be performing is not a substitute for a complete eye and vision evaluation by an eye doctor in their office, it is an excellent tool for identifying a possible problem. Our eye doctor will evaluate the screening results and talk with you about visiting your eye doctor’s office for further evaluation/treatment if needed.

The Middlefield Lions Club wants everyone to see a better tomorrow. Please join us for your free screening. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Melissa Kowal at (860) 305- 1544 or email at gr8finishes@att.net.
