Middlefield Man Charged With Manslaughter In Fatal Crash: Police

A man was charged with manslaughter in connection with an I-95 crash that left a motorcyclist dead, according to state police.

MILFORD, CT β€” A man was charged in connection with a fatal crash on I-95 in Milford last year, according to state police.

Angel Caraballo, 43, of Middlefield, was charged with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, second-degree reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.

Caraballo is accused of killing a motorcyclist in a crash last year.

Caraballo was driving a truck towing a trailer on I-95 northbound near exit 39 A on Sept. 22, 2023, when the truck drifted into the left lane and struck a motorcycle, according to state police.

The impact caused the motorcycle to hit the concrete median. Victor Forbes, 34, was thrown from the motorcycle.

He was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

State police said Caraballo showed signs of intoxication at the time. He failed field sobriety tests administered by police, according to an arrest warrant.

Caraballo was allegedly taking several kinds of medication that cause drowsiness when the accident occurred.

He was released on a $25,000 cash/surety bond and scheduled for arraignment at Milford Superior Court on Monday.
