Barbara Wolicki Papacoda, 79, of Meriden formerly of the New Haven area, beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Papacoda, Sr., passed away on January 12, 2026 surrounded by her family at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Loving mother of Joseph A. (Julie) Papacoda, Jr. of Middlefield and Edward (Sylvia Chamiolo) Papacoda of Morris, CT. She was a cherished grandmother to Jacob (Rachel), Jessica, Samuel, and Elena Papacoda, and a loving step‑grandmother to Victoria Chamiolo and Daniel Maust. Barbara was born in East Haven on August 24, 1946 daughter of the late Stanley and Helen Ferrucci Wolicki. She dedicated many years of service as an administrative assistant at Yale University before her retirement.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven SATURDAY morning, January 17, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
