Report: Man Tossed Pot Out of Window, Sped Away From Trooper on Route 66
Bloomfield man faces multiple charges for incident late Friday in Middlefield.

A Bloomfield man faces multiple charges after he was spotted speeding along Route 66 in Middlefield last week, according to police.
Jermaine A. Johnson, 37, was charged with speeding, reckless driving, and possession of a controlled substance on April 19.
Around 11 p.m. on Friday, state police witnessedΒ Johnson speeding along the highwayΒ near the Higby Reservoirs, but when the trooper attempted to stop Johnson he took off at a high rate of speed, a report says.
As the vehicle pulled away, Johnson threw a plastic bag containing marijuana out of the driver's side window, police say.
Johnson eventually pulled overΒ along Route I-691 and was arrested, according to the report.
Johnson is also charged withΒ operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license, disobeying an officer's signal and interfering with a police officer. The report says he was charged with possession ofΒ less than four ounces of marijuana.
Johnson's bond was set at $1,000. He's due in court May 3.
