Short Film to be Shot in Durham Next Month
Producer says town offers ideal setting for Give Into The Night, a screenplay written by the daughter of a local couple.

A film crew will set up shop in Durham next month.
The town was chosen as the setting for Give Into The Night, a short film written and directed by New York City-based filmmaker Sonejuhi Sinha, whose parents live in Durham.

The film explores the relationship between a young girl and her grandfather, who arrives in the U.S. from India to meet his granddaughter for the first time.
"It's kind of this reunion of strangers. It's an interesting story and it's pretty beautifully told," said Colin Whitlow, the film's producer.

Sinha, a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, recently won the emerging filmmaker award for her screenplay at the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival.
The film will be shot over a four-day period, from Feb. 6 to Feb. 9, according to Whitlow.
Although most of the scenes will take place inside Sinha's parents' home on Parmelee Hill Road, other scenes will be shot at a local horse farm.
"[Durham] is a place that offers a lot of the settings that the story revolves around," said Whitlow, who called the project "low key."
Because the film is being shot on a limited budget, Whitlow is currently looking for housing for some of the actors and crew, between 4-8 people, during the four day shoot.
