Spa, Subway and ZEO on Durham PZC Agenda Tonight

The town's Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on three separate special permit requests Wednesday.

Durham's Planning and Zoning Commission has a full agenda Wednesday night.

The commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on three separate requests, including two from Durham Manufacturing Company which owns 199 Main Street.

The company is moving forward with turning the property into professional office space. The PZC recently approved a proposal to allow a salon to occupy one of the offices.Β 

The commission will hear a request to modify the exisiting special permit to include "massage therapy to hairdressing and cosmetology."

The company has also requested a special permit to allow for a psychologist's office.

A third applicant,Β Torrison Stone & Garden, appeared before the commission last month to submit a site plan for the relocation of the company to 422 Main Street, which is currently occupied by Ken Marino Mercedes Benz.

Marino told Patch he is retiring after several decades at the location.

The commission is also expected to continue its discussion on the Town Planner and Zoning Enforcement Officer positionsΒ and well as review a site plan for a Subway restaurant at 28 Main Street, formerly Durham in Bloom.
