
State Police say 35 drivers have been arrested for driving under the influence during the first two days their Fourth of July holiday enforcement across Connecticut.
The following stats are from Midnight on July 3 through 9 p.m. on July 4 (provided by State Police):
Total accidents: 190
Accidents with injury: 27
Fatal accidents: 0
DUI arrests: 35
Speeding tickets: 1,276
Seatbelt violations: 257
Other violations (cell phone, unsafe lane change, etc.): 2,916
The holiday enforcement will continue through Sunday, July 7 which includes a DUI checkpoint along Route 66 in Middlefield.
