Good morning! Today is Tuesday, July 23!

1. The National Weather Service is calling for showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82.

2. There's a referendum today in Middlefield over the proposed sale of nearly 20-acres of town-owned land on Powder Hill Road to resident Lori Vogel-Brown. Voters should head to the polls at the Middlefield Community Center, 405 Main Street.

3. The Coginchaug All-Stars game vs. South Windsor will air live tonight at 5:30 p.m. on CPTV. Check your local listings.

5. The Middlefield Food Bank is very low on the following items: soup (please no broth, tomato or cream soups) more hearty & meat based, toothpaste, pasta sauce and cereal.  We kindly ask that you do not donate expired, dented and rusted cans. Recently we have received many items that we end up discarding.

These items can be dropped off at the Social Services office in the Middlefield Community Center, 405 Main Street, during business hours Monday – Friday or left in the box next to the office anytime. If you have any questions please contact Antoinette Astle at 860-349-7121.
