Vote Tonight on Durham Budget, BOE Seats
Following the approval last week of next year's school budget, Durham residents will vote tonight on a $6.4 million town budget proposal.

Durham residents will vote Monday nightΒ on a $6.4 million proposed town budget for the 2013-2014 fiscal year. The budget wasΒ presented last month by the town's finance board.
The annual budget meeting is scheduled for 8 p.m. at theΒ Julian B. Thayer Auditorium atΒ Coginchaug Regional High School.
Last week, fewer than 800 Durham residents came out to vote on District 13's $36.6 million 2013-2014 budget, which passed by aΒ 491-302 margin in Durham, and 177-173 in Middlefield.Β
Eligible voters will consider the following items:
1. To elect two members to a three-year term on the Regional School District #13 Board of Education, said terms to expire June 30, 2016.Β
2. To elect two members to a two-year term on the Durham-Middlefield Interlocal Agreement Advisory Board, said term to expire June 30, 2015.Β
3. To authorize the Board of Selectmen to accept any and all Town Aid highway funds (Transportation Infrastructure) this may be due and available to the Town of Durham for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2013.Β
4. To adopt a total town budget for Fiscal Year 2013-2014 in the amount of $6,400,076 less State and local revenues of $1,109,521 for a net town budget of $5,290,555 as recommended by the Board of Finance at their special meeting of April 17, 2013.Β
5. To adopt a five-year Local Capital Improvement Plan.Β
6. To approve the transfer of up to $40,000 from #9600 Fire Pond Reserve for the installation of a 15,000 gallon water tank at Deerfield Farm and related site improvements as recommended by the Board of Finance at their special meeting of April 17, 2013.Β
