Winter Team State Championship History: Coginchaug High School
Blue Devil teams have won eight state championships in winters past.
DURHAM, CT — As practices for Connecticut high school winter sports officially get underway Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.
To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of all eight CIAC winter team titles won by Coginchaug High School in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).
- boys indoor track (4) - Class S: 1974, 1973, 1970, 1969
- girls basketball (2) - Class S: 2018, 2012
- girls indoor track (1) - Class S: 1999
- boys basketball (1) - Class S: 1974
