EAST HAVEN, CT — It’s another exciting chapter in the friendly rivalry between local heroes. The 'Battle of the Havens' hockey game is back.

The East Haven and New Haven police departments face off in the second annual event Dec. 28 in the East Haven Memorial Ice Rink. The game benefits St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, a globally renowned institution committed to advancing cures and prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases.

The 2023 inaugural game, raised over $3,500 for St. Jude’s.

"We’re thrilled to continue this tradition and bring the community together for such an important
cause," East Haven Mayor Joe Carfora said. "Last year’s game was a tremendous success, and we’re looking forward to another evening of fun, friendly competition, and giving back to an incredible organization."

Beyond the competition on the ice, the event is an opportunity for the community to unite in
