EAST HAVEN, CT — As an East Haven Animal Shelter officer was at a local vet with an injured animal, someone showed up to the shelter and left a carrier "full of adult cats."

Just Sunday, the shelter had posted to Facebook about a small dog "found and/or abandoned in East Haven," that was "in need of immediate medical attention." The dog's injury, according to the vet, "had been like this for several days and unfortunately the damage was bad enough to warrant his eye being removed."

"We would like to know information on these sweet babies like their names, age, and any history at all. We understand everyone is struggling, but this is not the right way to go about it.," a Facebook post reads.

"The cats are being transported to the vet today for exams and initial vaccines and testing and a courtesy bath due to them having an accident in the carrier," it was noted.
