From the Bench: EHA/JMMS Volleyball End with Perfect 15-0 Season

The East Haven Middle School Volleyball team completed a perfect 15-0 season.

On Wednesday November 1st the EHA/JMMS girls volleyball team (6th,7th and 8th graders) completed their season with a perfect 15-0 record. 18-0 streak over the last 2 seasons. The girls defeated Adams middle school 3-1 to close out the season in front of a packed gym of family, friends and teachers.

As their head coach it was such a great season and an honor to coach such a great group of young ladies. This team was a group who loved to practice and play volleyball. They did everything I asked them to everyday and gave 100% all of the time. Our mission from day one as we do every year, get good grades first and foremost, practice hard, learn the game fundamentals, support each other, win, develop a winning culture and have FUN. The girls checked all the boxes!

The team lost only 5 sets all year. They defeated Branford twice, Adams twice, North Branford twice, Amity, New Haven, Shelton just to mention a few opponents. Eleven 8th graders will be heading out next year for the high school team. I have no doubt that with the support of their family and community these girls will be very successful.

One of the greatest moments for me personally came after winning our last game. I had six, 5th graders come up to me and give me high fives and say they couldn’t wait to play volleyball for me and East Haven. That’s what it’s all about!

The team and I would like to thank everyone for their support, we couldn’t have done it without you.
