Man Caught On Camera Stealing Packages, East Haven Police Say

EAST HAVEN, CT — The East Haven Police Department said in a Facebook post that they are looking for "this individual who was caught on camera stealing packages from residents in the Charter Oak Avenue area..."

Any information provided will remain anonymous.

To help protect your deliveries, please keep the following in mind, police said:

• Track your deliveries and retrieve packages as soon as possible after they arrive
• Use delivery instructions when available (rear door, side door, or hidden location)
• Have packages sent to work, a trusted neighbor, or a secure locker if you won’t be home
• Install motion lights or security cameras. Visible cameras can deter theft. (Signs that are visible and read “Smile, you’re on camera” can help too)
• Avoid leaving packages unattended overnight whenever possible

If you see suspicious activity or believe a theft has occurred, report it to us immediately so officers can respond to the area.
