UPDATE: Broken Pipe Leads To Flooding, Shuttering Hagaman Library

EAST HAVEN, CT — Update: The library posted to Facebook an update on its closure.

We just want to take a moment in this very busy week to say thank you. Thank you to the members of our community, our town administration, and many town departments who have come together this week to support Hagaman Memorial Library!

As you may have heard, the library is currently closed for repairs due to flooding. But thanks to a rapid response from our town administration and department of public works, we are making excellent progress. And thanks to our community partners jumping in to offer meeting spaces, we will be able to continue providing a variety of exciting programs for all ages next week, in a variety of new locations!

Thank you especially to the East Haven Family Resource Center, East Haven Adult Education, East Haven Youth Services, East Haven Recreation Department, & Old Stone Church (aka First Congregational Church of East Haven Inc.) for providing spaces where we can continue serving the town of East Haven. EAST HAVEN, CT — The Hagaman Memorial Library is temporarily closed due to flooding caused by a broken pipe, the library shared on Facebook around noon Tuesday.

East Haven fire and other officials are on hand assessing the damage, it's noted.
